Neck Face was born in 1984 in Stockton, California. In addition to being a graffiti artist, he is also an avid skateboarder. He dropped out of art school to pursue these two passions independently. The artist’s distinctive drawing style can be seen on his stickers and publicly on newspaper stands and buildings throughout cities. His violent, bloody, scratchy images are a cross between “heavy metal and bathroom graffiti,” according to the BBC Collective. Neck Face has said that he likes “seeing people laugh at my violent pieces, then they look around and wonder if it’s wrong to laugh at it.” Neck Face has been likened to Jean-Michel Basquiat, who was famous for his graffiti art in the 1980s.
