        Col Lionel Grimston Fawkes Two Sketches: From the drawing books of Colonel Lionel Fawkes (1849-1931), who served as aide de camp to General Gamble and assistant to the Governor of Barbados. One sheet has three character studies from Honduras, the other a scene of three men in a boat crossing a river pulled by two hoses. All are captioned. Dated 1880. Provenance: Robert A Goldstein; Purchased from Richard Green Gallery, London, in 1983. Size: three studies sight is 6.75" X 11.5" frame is 11.5" X 14.75". CONDITION: Sheet with three studies lacking top right corner, tear in middle right; single study is apparently fine, neither examined out of frames.
