The bug is one of the largest kinds worldwide with known specimen of over 17 cm length. The enormous size of the bug is in part due to the mandibles, Macrodontia means ‘large tooth’ and cervicornis translates to ‘deer antler’. The title ‘Y2K’ refers to the Year 2000 problem (also Millennium bug or Y2K bug), the computer problem of double-digit indicated years that aroused the fear of a global computer crash at the turn of the year from 1999 to 2000. The American Mitch Feinberg is best-known for his still life photographs of big advertisement campaigns and newspaper covers. The artist lives and works in Paris and New York.
