      with tapered spline corner bracing, old exhibition label verso for "Laurence Fellows, Phil."; 29 1/2" high, 34 1/4" wide, rabbet: 24 1/4" high, 29 3/8" wide. Laurence Fellows (1885-1964) was an American cartoonist and advertising artist, born in Ardmore, Pennsylvania, Fellows attended the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts and continued his studies in England and France. His work appeared in Judge, Life, Vanity Fair, Apparel Arts, and Esquire. At the start of the century he lived and worked in Philadelphia. Of special note, are his advertisements for Kelly-Springfield tires. Estate condition, barn found, various losses and in need of restoration, sold as is.
