    Isabel Field (American,1926-2008), "Images X"-1979, monotype on woven paper, title in pencil lower left margin, pencil signed and dated lower right. Work in muted tones with organic shapes floating in an abstract expanse. Framed 32.5" x 25". Unframed approximately 31.5" x 23.75". Note: Isabel Field was one of the founding members of the Printmakers, Inc., a workshop and gallery housed at the Torpedo Factory Art Center in Alexandria, Virginia. Through the years, Field has been instrumental in the revival of the monotype medium, a process in which an image is painted on a smooth surface and transferred with pressure to paper placed over it. She has exhibited in museums as well as showing nationally and internationally. Her work was included in exhibitions at the Phillips Collection, the U.S. Information Agency and the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts among other galleries.
