Peter enjoys the deep pleasure of creating his own paintings. Without that joy, it would have been impossible to sustain such a long and fruitful career. He still believes that he hasn’t reached the apogee of his creative ability. Peter recognises that what he has achieved has been by grace, and that truth has been a real blessing to him.

Peter has found that this creative process can be a flash of deep inspiration which can shape a good concept, but it’s also taught him again and again that developing a sketch further can be unpredictable and include a lot of thinking and weighing different options before the concept is fully developed into a finished painting.

When he started working he experienced the pain of being rejected by others who were not willing to help or share their jealously guarded art techniques. They responded like this because they feared that someone else would take their job.

Instead of that selfish attitude, the artist has chosen to do the opposite by sharing from his own experience of over fifty years in the creative industry.


His Facebook Blog includes “How to” tips, insight from his own journey, and “key techniques” to help others learn and improve their own creative skill levels.

Part-time practice from 1985-2003 meant he was able to turn that creative skill into a full-time career in 2003.

Through his fine art he has been able to achieve much more than he had ever thought possible.

As a self-taught artist, his concepts are often forged on the anvil of experience and trial and error. His concepts often lead him beyond his comfort zones as they continue to stretch his ability


One of the motives behind many of this artist’s current paintings, is to portray the deep need to “repair the breach” within marginalized societies, where poverty and high levels of unemployment amongst youth between the ages of 15-30, remain major problems.


After a severe back injury in 1984, he achieved a significant victory and breakthrough as this major problem led him to start fine art painting simply as a hobby.

Originally he didn’t think that he could use his “old fashioned” non-computer skills, but surprisingly they remain timeless skills, and remain extremely useful when developing new ideas and creating higher quality paintings.

The creative process can be an exciting yet surprising experience

Albert Einstein quote: “Thinking is hard work, that’s why so few do it.” An artist can constantly face the task of turning what seems like a creative dead-end into a new and better solution.

He’s found that this creative process can be a flash of deep inspiration which can shape a good concept, but it’s also taught him again and again that developing a sketch further can be unpredictable and include a lot of thinking and weighing different options before the concept is fully developed into a finished painting.

Then the painting can successfully express the artist’s original inspiration, sketch, or an allegory, clearly and effectively.
