A beautiful still life by John Fincher presenting four green pears in a vertical arrangement upon a white surface that Fincher brought to life with shades of blue, yellow, orange, and pink, as well as a richly expressive manner. All is rendered in Fincher's signature sensual, realistic style with palpable brushstrokes, areas of thick impasto, and gestural marks scratched into the fruits' blue shadows as well as other areas of the background. A mesmerizing piece, mounted behind glass in a custom matte and frame, "Four Pears" demonstrates Fincher's unique fusion of Pop Art and Expressionist influences. Size (sight view): 20.125" L x 13.75" W (51.1 cm x 34.9 cm) Size (frame): 30.5" L x 23.75" W (77.5 cm x 60.3 cm) Born in Hamilton, Texas, John Fincher earned his MFA from the University of Oklahoma in 1966.
