        Franklin Fireshaker (1918-2008) Native Female At Night Gouache on Board. This Ponca artist was touted as a student of Ponca history and customs. Franklin Fireshaker became an authority on Indian dances and was a frequent judge at tribal dance contests. Fireshaker's paintings were known to have depicted traditions, legends and rituals of the Ponca tribe. His work is included in the permanent collection of the Gilcrease Museum as well as the Philbrook Art Center. Note the artist used 30 layers of blue on this painting.         Franklin Fireshaker Signed Artist Proof Print Lot

        Three large prints and framed "Legend of The Eagle Boy", all are pencil signed Fireshaker and titled "Eagle Boy", the three artist proof prints are numbered 13 / 25. The prints are in good condition, some foxing and staining to the framed "Legend". All have matching chrome frames and are matted and under glass. The largest image size is approx. 22.5" x 28.5", frame 29.75" x 35.25" and the lot weighs about 38 pounds. There is a crack in the bottom left hand corner of one of the pieces of glass.
