Ricarda Fischer (geb. 1958) Ricarda Fischer is a contemporary German painter and graphic artist living in Berlin. Fischer co-foundet the Quergalerie in Berlin at the beginning of the 1980s and is mainly known for her abstract paintings. She studied at the Academies in Karlsruhe as pupil of Gerd van Dülmen und in Berlin as pupil of Karl Heinz Hödicke. Especially her works of the 1980s are associated with the tradition of the artist group COBRA and with Tachism. Even experimental works are part of her oeuvre, she involves planks and cords to manipulate the color flow. Later Fischer created graphics as well and published photographic editions.
