Tim Ray Fisher Art for Sale at Auction

b. 1969 -

Tim Ray Fisher was born on November 7, 1969, in Goshen, Indiana. He survived an extremely traumatic childhood of sexual abuse and neglect, which he repressed and blocked out. His ancestors were Mennonite on his mother’s side of the family, and Amish on his father’s side. He learned various arts and crafts during his childhood and teenage years, growing up in Indiana.

He started having flashbacks of childhood at age 21, while attending college in Bloomington, Indiana. He was hospitalized for 5 days for his PTSD symptoms. He had to drop out of college and moved to San Diego, California. He survived Guillain Barre Syndrome in 2005, and took up photography at a local community college as a hobby. He would eventually receive an Associate’s Degree in both Photography and Art History. He learned a lot about digital photography and Photoshop taught by David King. He took additional art classes including oil painting from, Wayne Hulgin and sculpture from Wendell Kling.

He resided in San Diego as a disabled artist where he created oil paintings, assemblages, and photography. He is a gay male and his oil paintings focus on nature and geometric patterns, using vibrant colors. Some of his artwork is dark and anti-religious, due to his PTSD. He also began to work with, and photograph, nude male models from Southern California. His digital male nudes were inspired by Andy Warhol, Bruce of LA, Robert Mapplethorpe, and Herb Ritts.

He was a member of the San Diego Art Institute, a member of the San Diego Museum of Art Artists Guild, and United Artists of San Diego. He battled alcohol and drug addiction while trying to heal from his PTSD. He could no longer afford to live in San Diego, California, due to the high rent prices. He moved to Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, in 2017 to be near relatives and to learn more about his Amish heritage.

He was living in a trailer on an Amish farm in Holtwood, Pennsylvania, in the fall of 2020 during COVID. He started to have new flashbacks of childhood trauma of being trafficked in a pedophile ring, and being molested by various relatives, teachers, coaches, and in Boy Scouts. He decided to sell everything and permanently move to Florida in 2021. He has since broken off all contact with all blood relatives and focuses on healing from his Complex PTSD. He continues to create artwork and identifies as a Floridian.
