Folingsby", oil on panel, 21-1/2 x 26-3/4 in.; giltwood frame, horizontal split through bottom center, two periods of conservation mostly related to split and edges and affecting less than 5% of surface; three battens verso and one butterfly; some craquelure, abrasions at edges with some loss at bottom; frame repainted and varnished. Notes: A version of this painting is held by the National Gallery of Victoria, Melbourne, Australia. Provenance: possibly Galerie de Paris, New York with accompanying document dated 1984 but for a painting titled "First Lesson"; purchased from a Park Avenue estate, New York City, New York; Private Collection
