NOTES In a letter dated 19 June 1987, Douglas Lewis, Curator of Sculpture and Decorative Arts at the National Gallery, Washington, D.C., wrote that Professor Sydney Freedberg tentatively suggested an attribution to Tommaso Lunetti (c.1495/96-1564) for the present lot.
