        Elmer Fryer (American, 1898-1944) photograph of unnamed Hollywood starlet originating from the files of publicist Scotty Bjurstrom. In the Mad-Man era of the 1940s and 1950s in Chicago Scotty Bjurstrom became more than a publicity photographer for the Chicago Herald American. He soon developed the Scotty Bjurstrom Agency. In this business he acted as president and chief publicist for one of the foremost companies of its kind in the City. His photographic files covered every aspect of entertainment coming and going in Chicago. Measures 9.675 in. x 7.6875 in. Elmer Fryer, Hollywood blindstamp lower right. Excellent condition.         Gelatin silver print USA, 1936 Elmer Fryer (1898-1944) - American photographer Inscribed in the negative lower right 'DAVIS-1257' With Movie Star News sticker verso Accompanied by original 10 x 8 in. studio negative, test print, and certificate of authenticity from Movie Star News Dimensions: 14 x 11 in. (35.6 x 27.9 cm.) Very good condition Dressed in black, Bette Davis poses before a shelf of figurines with on hand on her hip and the other holding onto the back of a chair. Known for her willingness to play unsympathetic characters, Davis is widely considered one of the greatest actors in cinema history. The winner of two Academy Awards, Davis was the first person to accrue ten nominations, and the first woman to receive a Lifetime Achievement Award from the American Film Institute. This photograph by Elmer Fryer captures the actress in her prime and is the perfect piece for any film enthusiast. This lot is accompanied by the original 10 x 8 in. studio negative, test print, and certificate of authenticity from Movie Star News. With the Movie Star News sticker verso, this double weighted gelatin silver print is inscribed in the negative and measures 14 x 11 inches. Excellent, original condition.
