      Waldlandschaft mit einem Bachlauf. Radierung nach Martin von Molitor. 33,5 x 46 cm. Andresen 2 I (von II). Der Wiener Sammler und dilettierende Künstler Franz Gabet schuf an die einhundert Landschaftsradierungen, deren subtile Technik nur selten den "Dilettanten" verrät. Seine besten Arbeiten entstanden in der Zeitspanne zwischen 1790-1810, darunter eine größere Gruppe von Radierungen nach Martin von Molitor, mit dem Gabet freundschaftlich eng verbunden war. Das druckgraphische Œuvre ist bei Nagler nur summarisch beschrieben, in der Wiener Hofbibliothek jedoch fast vollständig vertreten. Die Radieung liegt hier in einem Frühdruck vor der Hinzufügung der Künstlersignatur und der Adresse des Verlegers Johann Friedrich Frauenholz vor und trägt die von Andresen verzeichnete, selbstbewusste Inschrift: "Dédié à moi même". Ganz ausgezeichneter, kräftiger und nuancierter Druck mit Rand.
