    Painting Oil on Board; Aert Van Der Neer, Dutch (1603-1677). Stamped with the Panel Maker Mark of Guillaume Gabron on the Reverse. Purchased at Christie's London, 27 January 1950, Lot 135. The Prototype, Oil on Panel, 31.2 x 48.3cm is in the Hermitage. It Was Brought by Alexander I in 1817 (C. Hofstede De Groot, A Catalogue Raisonne, etc., VII, 1918, p.426, no.273) Dr. J. Wadum of the Mauritshuis has Kindly Pointed Out That the Panel Maker's Mark on the Reverse is That of Guilliam Gabron. Since Gabron was Active in Antwerp From 1614-1626, It Must be Assumed that the Support was Re-Used in the 19th Century. Condition: Generally Good Condition for Age with 1 Age Crack. Dimensions: Sight-18.75" x 12". Frame-25" x 18.25". Provenance: From a Long Island, NY Collector.
