Geiger", numbered on the reverse: "II 24". The sitter's beautiful costume is characterised in particular by his puffed sleeves and puffed trouser legs. Caspar Augustin Geiger studied painting at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Munich in 1866 under Wilhelm von Diez, among others; among other things, he produced four dome paintings for the Glaspalast in Munich.
