Better known as Dr. Seuss, Theodor Geisel studied at Dartmouth College, where he served as editor-in-chief of their humor magazine. He briefly attended Oxford University in England but returned to America to pursue a career as a cartoonist. Geisel eventually landed in advertising, using his illustration art to promote Standard Oil. In 1937, after multiple rejections, he finally published his first children’s book, And to Think That I Saw It on Mulberry Street.

Dozens of books would follow, featuring rhymes and Dr. Seuss drawings. These included classics like The Cat in the Hat, Green Eggs and Ham, and How the Grinch Stole Christmas. On the side, he was also a political cartoonist, speaking out against discrimination and social injustice. Today, you can find Dr. Seuss art for sale in galleries around the world and his books in every library. Dr. Seuss drawings and art prints are beloved by children and adults alike for their beautiful whimsy and the special memories they represent.
