Mary Elizabeth Maud GERARD (Sydenham- England 01/22/1915 - Brussels 04.02.2013)

Belgian painter Studied at the workshop Henriette Bosche in 1931. Admission to the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Brussels in 1931. Studied painting with Carte ANTO 1935-1937. Obtaining a scholarship to study painting in Paris from 1936 to 1937.

Winner of the annual painting competition of the Academy of Fine Arts in Brussels in 1937. Studied with Isidore OPSOMER at the Antwerp Institute of Painting. It was "Prix de Rome" in 1941 and stayed at the Villa Medicis.

Exhibition at the Gallery of the Unicorn in Brussels in 1942. Personal exhibition at the Palais des Beaux-Arts in Brussels in 1948. Exhibition at the Gallery Breughel in Brussels in 1952 and 1955.

A traveled extensively in Europe, Africa, New York, Washington and South America.
