    Albert Dakin Gihon (New Hampshire / France, 1866-1950) Oil/Canvas. Signed lower left. Sight Size: 30.5 x 33 in. Overall Size: 37.25 x 44.5 in. Albert Gihon studied with Thomas Eakins and William Merritt Chase at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts. He then went to Paris for further studies. First he enrolled with Jean-Paul Laurens and Benjamin Constant at the Academie Julien, but later transferred to the Ecole des Beaux-Arts to study with Jean-Leon Jerome. He exhibited at the Salon de Artistes Independents and the Salon de Artistes Francais. the "old school" salons and the "Exposition Universalle. He also exhibited in London, the Salons of the Societe National Beaux-Arts, and at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts.
