        Eugène Gluck (1820-1898) for Theodore Deck (1823-1891) Eugène Gluck (1820-1898) for Theodore Deck (1823-1891), dated 1869, a pair of pottery panels, painted with a boar hunt and a stag hunt, signed and dated '1869', 48.8 x 13.4cm, mounted in later black painted, reeded frames (2) Gluck was associated with Deck, a fellow Alsatian, throughout his career. Gluck was a painter of landscapes, historical and genre scenes and also a lithographer. He exhibited at the Salon between 1847 and 1880, but continued producing for Deck until the 1890s. Gluck favoured mediaeval subjects and, as here, hunting scenes, some adapted from Antonio Tempesta (Italian, 1555-1630). Condition Report: No obvious major faults.
