        Johann Gottlieb Prestel (1739 Grönenbach - 1808 Frankfurt am Main) "Susanne devant ses Juges" (Susanna vor den Richtern). Originaltitel Farbaquatinta/Papier, 1788. In der Platte sign. u. dat.; Nach dem berühmten Gemälde "Die Ehebrecherin" von Pietro da Cortona (seit 1806 in der Pinakothek in München, heute in der Staatsgalerie im Neuen Schloss, Schleißheim). Das 1795 in den "Neuen Miscellanen artistischen Inhalts" von J. G. Meusel aufgeführte, in "eigener Manier gearbeitete", künstlerisch virtuose Blatt erschien im Verlag des Grafikers und Kunsthändlers J. G. Reinheimer, Frankfurt am Main. Darstellung 57,3 cm x 44 cm. Aquatint in colours on paper, 1788. Signed and dated in the plate.

        modelled by Johann Gottlieb Ehder , of quatrelobe form raised on four dolphin feet, the shell-moulded ground with a cartouche on either side painted with the marriage arms of Brühl-Kolowrat-Krakowsky , sprigs of indianische Blumen to the rim, applied with later gilt-metal lion mask handles crossed swords mark in underglaze-blue, impressed 26 Condition Note: figural handles and cover lacking, haircrack, gilding worn We are pleased to provide you with a general report of the condition of the property described in our catalogue.
