      Upholstered in blue damask, with a paper label 'Royal School of Needlework, Exhibition Road, S.W.'. 35 x 26 1/4 x 23 in. Note: The model of this chair is traditionally associated with John Cobb, Royal Upholsterer to King George III. His work possesses an unrivaled elegance, as with this chair. He executed the French rococo style like no other English cabinetmaker. The Metropolitan Museum of Art, 1074-75, exhibit 212, page 217, shows a pair of chairs by the same maker.
