    Herbert Grass, Bildnis der Maria Pos-Carloforti Bildnis der Sopranistin Maria del Carloforti (1889 bis 1965), im prächtigen roten Renaissancegewand auf einem Stuhl sitzend, mit der einen Hand auf den Stuhl gestützt, die andere in effektvollen Geste mit der Innenfläche vor der Brust haltend, im Hintergrund und im unteren Bildbereich angedeutetes Bühnenbild, im oberen Bildbereich in antikisierenden Lettern Namenszug Carlofortis, die später in New York ansässige Sängerin und Gesangslehrerin zählte zu den besten Sopranistinnen ihrer Zeit, so schrieb der Berliner Theaterführer im Jahr 1925, dem Jahr, in welchem Grass sie hier portraitiert: "Die gesamte Presse rühmt ihre großdimensionale Künstlerschaft und den unerhörten Wohlklang ihres Bel-Canto-Soprans (Konzertführer Berlin 1925, S. 14.).", 1925 war sie als Sopranistin in Händels Kantate "La Lucrezia" nachweislich auf Tour in Süddeutschland, dabei könnte Grass Carloforti gesehen und portraitiert haben, Carloforti sang auch – motivisch passend – auf der Berliner Volksbühne im Jahr 1925 zu Musik der Renaissance, impressionistisch anmutende Portraitmalerei in kräftiger Farbigkeit, Öl auf Leinwand, links unten signiert "Herbert Grass" sowie datiert "1925", rückseitig nochmals signiert und datiert sowie Annotation "Forte Fortaye" mit stilisierter Skizze, kleine Leinwandrestaurierung, gerahmt, Falzmaße ca. 86 x 70,5 cm. Lipsius - Waltraud, Günther, Gernot, Bernd, Volkmar 1939", darunter die Embleme der HJ, der NS-Frauenschaft und Hakenkreuz. Der Vater in Uniform als Ortsgruppenleiter, die Mutter in rotbraunem Kostüm, die Kinder mit Ausnahme der beiden Jüngsten in HJ- bzw. BDM-Uniform. Rs. erneut bez. "Herbert Grass 1939". Cremefarbene Rahmenleisten anbei. Bildmaße 131 x 150 cm. Herbert Grass, geb. am 25.6.1886 in Mannheim, studierte 1902 - 07 an der Leipziger Akademie für Graphische Künste, ließ sich 1914 als Landschafts-, Stillleben- und Bildnismaler in Heidelberg nieder und schuf u.a. das Portrait des Hofrats Dr. Lochner für die Stadtgeschichtliche Sammlung Leipzig und das Bildnis des Nobelpreisträgers Dr. Lenard für das Heidelberger Rathaus.
