      Harold Green (1883 - 1969) Imppressionist painting of a figure standing in a doorway with a wooded landscape in the background. Dappled sunlight throughout painting. Stretcher to painting is separating. Oil/Canvas. Faintly Signed lower left. Size: 30 x 26 inches. Unframed. Harold Abbott Green was born in Montreal in 1883 and died in Hartford, Connecticut in 1969 where he studied art under Robert Brandegee and Charles Flagg. Known for impressionistic landscapes and seascapes as well as genre scenes. Many of his beach and boat scenes were painted along the Rhode Island shoreline from 1915 to 1930 during summer vacations. He was a member of the Connecticut Academy of Fine Arts and exhibited at the Wadsworth Athenaeum, where he won a prize in 1918.
