Brian Grimm, a Texas artist, began in commercial art and eventually moved on to pursue fine art. Brian was introduced to master wildlife painter Ken Carlson, who became highly influential on his career. The subjects of his paintings are western wildlife, longhorn cattle, and western landscapes. Brian paints on prepared masonite because the firmness of that ground allows him full expression and confident brush-work. He also does plein-air painting to recreate natural lighting.
