    • WINTERLAND SALZBURG - OSTERREICH ORIGINAL VINTAGE POSTER
      Jan. 25, 2018

WINTERLAND SALZBURG - OSTERREICH ORIGINAL VINTAGE POSTER

      Est: $1,200 - $1,600

This poster from the 1950s was created by Fritz Grünböck while working for the Atelier Koszler. The poster was intended to promote tourism in Salzburg, Austria to the German speaking countries. This image was used in different countries and only the text varied. The image shows a woolen mitten holding some snow, where the artist has decided very cleverly to depict a church almost buried in the snow and a mountain. The ski slope inside a mitten is the main focus against a deep blue background with few snowflakes throughout. The Atelier Koszler was a graphic studio founded in Vienna by Hugo Koszler, active from 1945 to 1967. Usually the posters from the workshop were signed with a "K" or "Atelier Koszler", like in this case. Only a few times the initials of the person that designed the image are included in the poster, here we find "fg" for Fritz Grünböck. This is an Original Vintage Poster; it is not a reproduction. This poster is conservation mounted, linen backed, and in excellent condition. We guarantee the authenticity of all of our posters.
