Andere Werkgruppen sind u.a. Federkleid. ENGLISH TEXT: GrÜnfeld, Thomas 1956 Leverkusen - lives in Cologne Misfits. Triptychon. Three stuffed rodents, in a plexglass box. On wooden plinth. Total measurements 140 x 35 x 35cm each. The German artist Thomas GrÜnfeld lives and works in Cologne and is professor of sculpture at the Kunstakademie DÜsseldorf. His works are characterized by the separation of various sculpture groups, of which his animal sculptures - called Misfits - form the most significant and well-known group. Other groups are for example felt, rubber and trays, which were created ca. 1986. GrÜnfeld became quite prominent in 1990, when his works were exhibited in London for the first time - animal rights activists created such a scene that the police had to be deployed. The use of two different animals is characteristic for these pieces. The heads and bodies show various levels of similarity in species, colour, fur and feathers.
