    Paul Gutscher (born 1869) "Tauben am Tor" (tr. "Doves at the Gate") - Great German Art Exhibition 1944 Water colour on cardboard artist's hand signature bottom right "Paul Gutscher". Doves on stairs leading up to a richly decorated late renaissance portal. Delicate graduations of green hues create a convincing court atmosphere as regards space and colour. Under glass in original decorated profile frame (lightly damaged plate of NSDAP-Gauleitung Oberdonau) on the back detailed original label of GDK 1944 signed by the artist. The painting was exhibited in room no. 30. Picture dimensions circa 62 x 50 cm frame dimensions circa 80 x 69 cm. Later inserted cardboard for reinforcing the back. Signs of usage and age. Painting surface preserved in fresh colours.
