      Ca 1905. Charles Oscar Haag (American, born Sweden 1867-1933). Haag called this Accord because he felt the sexes came nearest together in the peasant class in their daily work at the plow. A sculptor who often depicted working people, Haag, was born in Sweden, worked as a laborer, then an apprentice to a potter before studying at the technical arts school in Gothenburg. Traveling to Stockholm, then Switzerland, Haag settled in Paris to study before he immigrated to New York in 1903. This bronze is in the Metropolitan Museum in New York. Measures approximately 15 inches tall. Signed. Wooden base.
