        This poster was designed by the creative talent of Hap Hadley, well known for his Charlie Chaplin and Buster Keaton posters in the 20s and 30s. Howard Hughes made a name for himself as a film producer and then went onto being involved in one of his passions, aviation. Hughes produced this film, which was directed by Tom Buckingham, and stars Chester Morris and Billie Dove. Fewer than five of these posters are known to have survived

        The designer of this beautiful US poster, Alvan Cordell 'Hap' Hadley is recognised as one of the most adventurous and influential poster artists of the era.  Hadley began his career during the First World War, when he was one of the marine corps official artists.  He later owned his own advertising studio in Manhattan, where he produced work for all the major film studios over a period of more than thirty years.  He remains most remembered for his depictions of Charlie Chaplin and Buster Keaton. Gigolettes of Paris was a pre Hays Code melodrama.  When is was released in the UK it was done so under the name Tarnished Youth.
