      Dec. 14, 2021

      ALVA HAJN 1938 - 1991 - AN OBJECT

      Est: -

Alva Hajn's free creation is characterized by its overflowing energy, often harsh, which turns noble material into anarchy and chaos and dull materials such as concrete and asphalt paper into decorative structures. The submitted object belongs to its free creation and is not bound by a commercial order, which was subject to the customer's wishes. His peers called such orders "bread comissions". Alva Hajn is conceptual and playful in testing what the paper can still bear. The object recalls the representation of the principle of yin and yang - in their multi-layered and strongly connected with the author himself. Technique: Wood, paper, cement, Signed: Unsigned

      ALVA HAJN 1938 - 1991 - FIGURAL MOTIF (A COUPLE)

      Est: -

Alva Hajn belongs to a lost generation of artists who had only a brief moment in the 1960s to prove their painting qualities. Two principles are easily recognizable in his paintings - the aesthetic and ornamental principle and the other very dramatic and destructive. Predatory and organic structures alternate with calligraphic strokes. The figural motifs of the 1960s and 1970s are the embodiment of this inner struggle and drama, and according to some experts, works from this period are among the author's best. They are especially impressive with a combination of simplifying features and strongly expressive to organic structures.
