      Oil and chalk on canvas Lonni Hall (born 1956), Danish artist and philosopher Signed and dated in lower right "L. Hall 94" Labeled on the frame ‚Lonni Hall' Very good condition Strong work in impressively large format Dimensions: 140 x 203,5cm This large and strong work by Lonni Hall needs more than one look to really unfold its strength to the eyes of the beholder. The upper third is a huge black field where bits of yellow shine through. The black can also be found on the upper and left margins of the canvas. Stretching out from the middle of the canvas and covering about half of it is a blurred field of greyish, violet and white tones that have been painted with wide and strong strokes. Exactly in the middle of the canvas is a reddish circle with a yellow upper border. So far so good - but now, looking closer at the painting, it reveals more secrets: silhouettes of faces appear, two persons seem to be walking on the right margin, looming horizontally into the painting. Chalk lines cross the painting and some parts have been painted with a dotted raster. There is no easy explanation for this art work and that is precisely what makes its fascination. Lonni Hall (born 1956) Lonni Hall studied philosophy and fine arts at Copenhagen University and went for further studies to Rome and Paris. She works today as a philosophy coach but has never stopped working as an artist and has had huge success. She exhibits regularly in Denmark and internationally and takes part in important art fairs.
