Marina Hamilton Sold at Auction Prices

Marina is surrounded by her greatest inspiration - animals. She lives and works on the family farm in St. Johnston, Co Donegal and her studio overlooks the River Foyle.

She has always been fascinated with the expressions and individual characters of the farm animals and wildlife she has seen at close quarters.

That insight and great affinity she has with animals is reflected in her painting and sculpture. Whether it is on canvas or in clay Marina captures the attitude and uniqueness of each individual animal. That's why every piece of sculpture is a one off, completely hand built with no moulds.

Horses have played a key role in her life, not just in art, but also in sport. She's a former jockey and still competes regularly on the cross-country circuit.

Although best known as an equestrian artist Marina has also broadened her range to include other animals.

She graduated from the University of Ulster Belfast with a degree in ceramics in 1996 and now works from her studio / Gallery in St Johnston.

She works easily between a number of mediums including ceramic, bronze, pastel, watercolour and oil painting.

She undertakes commissions and her sculptures have been presented at international and national sporting events. She has also been commissioned for public artworks in Northern Ireland.
