    This is an antique etching print by artist Ernest Haskell (American, 1876-1925). Haskell was an artist and illustrator, internationally famous in his lifetime and remembered for his etchings, as well as engravings, pen-and-ink drawings, lithographs and watercolors. He was a pioneer in the field of theatrical posters. He created many portraits and caricatures of luminaries of the day. During World War I he was commissioned by the United States Army to develop camouflage painting. Haskell's etchings and intaglio prints are considered by critics and scholars to be his most important contribution. This etching features a bucolic landscape titled Live Oak Shadows. Signed in pencil below the plate. The paper is 14 1/4 x 10 1/2". The plate mark is 8 x 5".

    Original antique advertising poster for the July issue of Pearson's magazine featuring Cutcliffe Hyne's new novel The Lost Continent - 4 color plates - Increased size - 10 cents. Colourful Belle Epoque illustration by the American artist Ernest Haskell (1876-1925) depicting a fashionable young lady leaning on the Pearsons advertisement reading a copy of the magazine.
