Sketchbook with charming watercolours from Antibes to Katwijk

HENGST, Marie van (Dutch 1868 - ?). Sketchbook, c. 1892-1901. Original sketchbook, cloth covers, inscribed 'Gehele inhoud is van Marie van Hengst geb. 1868' (on the front endpaper); with 32 watercolours, drawings and sketches, most of them signed, dated and titled. Two small envelopes with inscriptions and the artist's hair inside attached with a paper clip to the front free endpaper, several dried plants between the pages. Binding loosening with one leaf loose, occasional foxing stains, else good; (91) pp. Added: a double-sided watercolour by the same.
