Акад. наук, 1881. - [2], XXIV, 437 с.; 24 см. - В полукожаном переплете эпохи с золотым тиснением по корешку (потертости корешка, трещина между корешком и переплетной крышкой). Суперэкслибрис: «А.С.». На форзаце книжный знак: «Из библиотеки Алексея Сергеевича Суворина». На тит. листе штемпельный экслибрис Гос. публичной биб-ки в Ленинграде (старый, образца 1920-х гг.). Штамп: «Запасные фонды». Тотчас после революции богатейшая биб-ка А. Суворина была национализирована. В 1920-1930-е годы большинство книг ее было продано заграницу. Важное сочинение по ранней истории Венгрии, не утратившее свого значения и по сию пору. Редка. Провенанс: СУВОРИН Алексей Сергеевич (1834 - 1912). Журналист и драматург, выдающийся русский издатель. Воронежский уроженец, он построил целую издательскую империю, «завоевав» русский книжный рынок. Все началось с приобретения газеты «Новое время», которая очень быстро завоевала симпатии русского читателя. Далее последовало основание книжного магазина и собственного издательства. Суворин печатал практически всех выдающихся писателей той поры - от Некрасова и Салтыкова-Щедрина до Чехова. Будучи русским патриотом, он всячески боролся против революции, поддерживал монархическое и черносотенное движение. Был крупным библиофилом, собрал замечательную библиотеку.

At the bottom is a small dent with associated tiny paint losses, additionally, there are very occasional small and unobtrusive paint losses under the varnish and partially unobtrusive shrinkage cracks.
