    Miniature Portrait of a Wealthy and Ostentatious Woman in the latest Paris fashion, signed and dated 1832 on the original backing board; she is depicted in a fancy green velvet gown with large muttonchop sleeves, low decolletage, Belgian lace overlays, pendant on gold rope, gold bracelets, ruby and gold necklace and earrings and a curious little fez-like hat sporting a single white rose. She is seated on red drapery, an oddly striated sky to her left, oil on ivory, now housed in a 1930s brass desk frame. 5" x 3 1/4" overall. Minor loss to pigment at top.
