Die Binnenalster war die Bühne, und Häuser und Türme zogen sich im Hintergrund wie ein Rundprospekt herum. Die historisch bedeutende, um 1850-1860 entstandene Ansicht von Hamburg mit der wiederaufgebauten Stadt nach dem großen Stadtbrand von 1842 gehört zu den raren Gemälden des Künstlers. Heuer gilt als einer der besten Zeichner und Grafiker seiner Zeit im norddeutschen Raum; nach seiner Lithographen-Ausbildung bei den Gebrüdern Suhr studierte er in der zweiten Hälfte der 1830er Jahre in Wien und kehrte 1842 in seine Heimatstadt zurück. In seinen Ansichten aus Hamburg und seiner Umgebung verband er topographische Exaktheit mit einem ausgeprägten Gefühl für malerische Farbwerte. Öl/Lwd., auf Holztafel kaschiert.
