      George Waldo Hill (NY, 1815-1893), Sunset Landscape oil on canvas (lined), signed at lower left, presented in a later gilt frame. DOA 18.75 x 24 7/8 in. George Waldo Hill lived in Brooklyn, NY and was neighbor to Joseph Inness, brother of George Inness. Hill's son, Arthur Trumbull Hill, recounted the relationship between his father and Inness in an article entitled "Early Recollections of George Inness and George Waldo Hill" for the New Salmagundi Paper, Series of 1922.
