        Howard Hill (British/American, 1840-1890), Point Across the Creek oil on canvas (lined), signed at lower right, presented in a later gilt frame. Sight size 13 1/2 x 19 1/2 in.; Frame dimensions 19 1/2 x 25 1/2 in. English born Howard Hill immigrated to New York in the 1860s. He is best known as a sporting and genre artist and exhibited at the National Academy of Design. Hill was the grandfather of the noted illustrator, Norman Rockwell. Despite the fact that the two never met, Rockwell was fond of his grandfather's paintings and displayed one of his sporting pictures in his studio.         A bow signed by Hall of Famer, Howard Hill. This bow was used to take down "Big Blue". Reference Doug Walker Autobiography pages 48-54. 70 inch bow | The Executor of the estate not knowing what to do with the Big Blue antlers has decided to Gift them to the individual that purchases Lot # 3 Howard Hill Sweetheart bow that was used to shoot Big Blue. It seemed only right that they all stay together. The successful bidder on the Bow and arrow, that was used on a deer kill in Carmel Valley hunt in 1961, will receive from the estate a gift letter and the Big Blue Antlers.
