      William Hillyer (American; 1815 - 1904) Philadelphia 1835 portrait of three children oil on canvas signed verso. Dated 1835. Underwent restoration by The Chicago Conservation Center in August 1985: The surface was cleaned, lined to fiberglass cloth, Bocour Magna, & Soluvar varnish. Tag attached to back of frame. Portrait of 3 children born to Israel Robinson 1789-1848 and Sarah Ann Burgess 1808-1875. Children: Emma Jane Robinson age 5, William Henry Robinson age 7, & Helena Elvira Robinson age 3 (1832-1919). Provenance: From direct descendants of Helena Elvira Robinson. William Hillyer was active from 1832-1864 and exhibited at the American Academy in 1833, at the National Academy in 1835 and 1836 and at the American Institute in 1849. H 32 1/2" x W 43 3/4" image
