Aus Hollstein 111, Landwehr 81. -- -- Vier Radierungen aus dem großformatigen Bilderbogen mit der Darstellung zum Krieg und den Festlichkeiten zum Friedensschluss im Jahre 1674 in Den Haag. Ausgezeichnete, gegensatzreiche Drucke auf die Einfassungslinie geschnitten, teils knapp innerhalb dieser. Il soggetto raffigura la flotta della Lega Santa (con navi provenienti dalla Repubblica di Venezia, dalle galee dell'Impero spagnolo con il Regno di Napoli e il Regno di Sicilia, dello Stato Pontificio, e della Repubblica di Genova) comandata da Don Giovanni d'Austria che sconfigge i Turchi nella battaglia navale di Lepanto il 7 ottobre 1571. Um 1680. -- Eindrucksvolle Abbildung der Schlacht um Antwerpen mit Kartusche in unterer Ecke, auf der Personen, Orte und Geschehen erklärt sind. Mittig eine blickfangende Explosion, vor der sich nur wenige retten können. Darunter Feldherr Alessandro Farnese (1545-1592), am Boden liegend mit gezücktem Schwert und müdem Blick. Soldaten, Boots- und Brückenteile fliegen durch die Luft, Fluten von Wasser überschwemmen das spanische Heer, Kanonen und Gewehre. Im Hintergrund brennen Schiffe, auf dem hinterem, noch bestehenden Teil der Brücke liegen tote Soldaten. – Schön erhalten.

                The frontispice is dated 1702, published by Jakob Lindenberg as front page of the Bible by Henricus Vos. Engraving on a double page, fold as published, but else in very good contition. Originating from: Henricus Vos, 'Alle de voornaamste historien des Ouden en Nieuwen Testaments. Verbeeld in uytsteekende konst - platen', Amsterdam, 1703. Sheet: 30 x 19,5 cm. Note: Romeyn de Hooghe (1645 – 1708) was een Noord-Nederlandse schilder en tekende karikaturen (onder het pseudoniem Marlois), hield zich daarnaast ook bezig als goudsmid, emailleur, boekillustrator en publiceerde landkaarten, vond een manier uit om katoen te bedrukken, was advocaat en schreef historisch-politiek werk. Die universele geest blijkt onder meer uit de uiteenlopende onderwerpen van zijn illustraties: vechtsport, de bijbel, emblemata, verre oorden en tuinontwerpen. Zijn atelier telde 36 assistenten.
