Folding engraved frontispiece mounted on silk, folding letterpress table entitled "A Scheme of Laws ... to be observed in all Fencing-Schools", errata leaf at end (table torn without loss, some spotting and browning) [bound with:] B., H. A Few Observations upon the Fighting for Prizes in the Bear-Gardens: by a Lover and Well-wisher, not only to the True and Useful Art of the Sword, but also to the Safety and Security of the Persons of those Brave, Courageous, and Bold Performers in these publick Places. London: [no publisher], 1715. 2 works in one volume, 4°, 19th-century half calf, spine gilt with red morocco lettering-piece (extremities rubbed, some light staining). Provenance: Dimicat, Egerton Castle (bookplate and pink ink stamp to title and frontispiece) -- Mark Dineley (armorial bookplate). The (anonymous) author of the second work ("H.B.") refers to the first work on page 4.
