Featured in this lot is this original framed painting by Harold Isadore Hopkinson (August 8th 1918 - December 18th, 2000). Harold Isadore Hopkinson was a Fort Bridger, Wyoming-based Mormon artist, illustrator, and art educator. Hopkinson was educated at the LDS Business College and was born in Salt Lake City, Utah. Before enlisting in the Navy in 1940 to serve in World War II, he married Vivian Hamblin in 1939. He served for three years before coming home and settling in Laramie to start college. They ultimately made their home in Bryon, Wyoming, where he worked as a school superintendent and art teacher. They moved in 1988 and started serving a mission in Mesa, Arizona. In Mesa, Harold and his wife both passed away. This painting is titled, "The Sunlit Face" and shows the snow capped mountain peaks of the Grand Tetons of Jackson being struck by the sun passing through the breaks in the clouds, casting a bright section on the mountains in the middle of the painting. Hopkinson does a great job of using contrasting colors to make the image pop. The vintage wood frame shows some wear from its age but helps add character to the painting. The painting is in good condition with no signs of damage or wear. The art measures 15 1/4" L x 19 1/2" W. The entire piece measures 21" L x 25 1/4" W.
