      Oil on canvas, laid to fiberboard England, 1998 Shirazeh Houshiary (born 1955) - British artist of Iranian descent and one of the most famous representatives of New British Sculpture Marked several times on the stretcher with the artist's name, moreover inscribed ‘Vesper’, ‘No. 1’ and dated ‘1998’ Dimensions: 40 x 40 cm Black gallery frame: 56.5 x 56.5 cm Very good condition The current highest auction record for a similar painting by Houshiary is more than €57,000 A member of the artist group ‘New British Sculpture’, Shirazeh Houshiary (b. 1955) exhibited her sculptural works in the 1980s along with such famous artists such as Tony Cragg, Anish Kapoor and Julian Opie at the Lisson Gallery in London, founded by Nicholas Logsdail in 1967. Estimate by Auctionata Expert: 8,000 Euro Condition: The painting is in a very good condition, showing only tiny chips to the fame. The dimensions are 40 x 40 cm, while the frame is 56.5 x 56.5 cm in size. Shirazeh Houshiary (born 1955) Shirazeh Houshiary went to London in 1975 and studied at the Chelsea College of Arts. From 1979 to 1980, she was a Junior Fellow at the College of Art in Cardiff. She gained international notoriety through her participation in the Venice Biennale in 1993. Works by Houshiary are in the collections of the Museum of Modern Art in New York and the Tate Gallery in London, amongst others.
