      Two albums containing approximately 380 gelatin silver prints, mounted to each side of page with captioned tissue guards, original leather cover with gilt title, images from 7.5 x 13cm (3 x 5 1/8in) to12.5 x 20cm (4 7/8 x 7 7/8in); album 36.5 x 25.5cm (14 3/8 x 10in) Cornelius Kingsley Garrison Billings, an American millionaire and horse racing magnate, took his prize-winning trotters including the world s first two- minute trotter, Lou Dillon (Queen Lou) on a goodwill tour of Eastern Europe in 1908. Murray Howe, a horse-racing journalist, was invited to chronicle the trip in weekly dispatches to The Horse Review magazine. His photographs of Berlin, Warsaw, Vienna, Budapest, Paris, Moscow, St. Petersburg and other European cities have been collected in these two volumes.
