        Titled "Many Directions", 2005 mixed media collage. Judith Hoyt has been making art from found metal and paper collage for over thirty years. Her work is included in collections of the Guggenheim Museum and the Smithsonian Museum. This piece is of found metal nailed to plywood with the edges painted in oil paint to match metal on the front. The found metal is discolored, corroded and misshapen by the random process of history- a history that gets integrated into the work. Each piece evolves through trial and error, the shapes and colors of the materials guiding the development. Size: 16 1/2 x 40 in.
