Born Pavel Ickovic in Czechoslovakia in 1944. Ickovic emigrated to Colombia and then to the United States, where his name was changed to Paul. His books include "In Transit," "Safe Conduct," and "Kafka's Grave and Other Stories," a collaboration with Pulitzer prize winning author David Mamet.
