    Landschaft mit einem großen Baum, im Vordergrund ein Paar. Radierung. 8,3 x 10,9 cm. Hollstein 2 I-II (von II). Ein Hollstein nicht bekannter Zwischenzustand, vor der Nummer, jedoch bereits mit dem von Strichlagen überschatteten Monogramm PAI. Ausgezeichneter Druck mit feinem Rändchen, teils bis auf die Plattenkante geschnitten. Ganz vereinzelt winzige Fleckchen, sonst sehr gut erhalten. Aus der Sammlung Thomas Graf (1092a). Die nur 8 Radierungen von Immenraet sind sehr selten.

    Philips Augustyn Immenraet, Two Landscapes with Shepherds and Ruins Philips Augustyn Immenraet was the son of a German-born piano maker from Antwerp. Houbraken records that he was a student of Lucas van Uden, and that he lived in Italy for quite some time. He returned to his home town in 1655, but appears to have continued painting Italian and Italianate landscapes there. The present works display this artist's characteristic style of composition and subject, but also the unmistakeably idiosyncratic cool palette with which Immenraet typically captured the southern light. One of these paintings shows the same motifs in the foreground as the "Landscape with Ruins" in the Landesmuseum Oldenburg (J.de Maere / M. Wabbes: Illustrated Dictionary of 17. Century Flemish Painters, illus. 645). Each 42 x 59 cm

    Immenraet, Philips Augustyn Weite Landschaft mit Wasserfall (Antwerpen 1627-1679 ebd.) Öl/Lwd. 92 x 131 cm. - Lit. Thieme/Becker 18. - Immenraet war als Schüler Lucas van Udens ein charakteristischer Vertreter der Brüsseler Schule der Landschaftsmalerei. Insgesamt sind seine Arbeiten meist schroffer und von freierem Duktus als vergleichbare Werke von Jacques d'Arthois. Immenraet war einer der Hauptvertreter der von Lucas van Uden wiederbelebten flämischen Landschaftsmalerei. 1655 wurde er Meister der Antwerpener St. Lukasgilde. Walther Brent schreibt über Immenraet: "Er war in seiner Zeit ein angesehener Maler. Italienisierende Landschaften mit Wasserfällen, Ruinen und Kastellen entstanden oft in Zusammenarbeit mit E. Biset (Figurenstaffage) und W. van Ehrenberg (Architektur)...".
