        JOB, CHARLES (1853–1930) [Mrs. B. Job, Cowden Kent, circa 1905]. Bromoil print, 6 3/8 x 8 1/2 inches (162 x 215 mm), verso signed (apparently by the artist though written as "by Charles Job"). Edges of print slightly unevenly trimmed in the margins. Charles Job became a Fellow of the Royal Photographic Society in 1895. He exhibited with the Society and with "The Brotherhood of the Linked Ring", the British equivalent to the American Photo-Secession movement. The present work is a magnificent example of Pictorialism.

        Charles Job 'garden at 8 spring terrace, richmond', 1920s Carbon Print, titled and inscribed 'by Charles Job' in pencil on the reverse, 358 by 256mm Charles Job, a stockbroker by profession, was a passionate amateur who became a Fellow of the Royal Photographic Society in 1895, contributing to the annual exhibitions of the society and of the Linked Ring. He lived in Richmond from 1922 till his death in 1930. Provenance: Hastings Galleries, 1978.
